The SEAoK Young Member Group (YMG) is dedicated to empowering young structural engineers as they launch and grow their careers. We provide opportunities for professional development, technical enrichment, and industry exposure through educational events, networking, and mentorship.
Our mission is to foster a supportive and inclusive community where early-career engineers can connect, collaborate, and thrive—gaining experiences beyond the typical workplace to build confidence, expand knowledge, and shape the future of structural engineering in Kentucky.

UPCOMING EVENTS Q&A with Seth Guthrie: RAM Products Have questions about RAM products? Join SEAoK for an interactive Q&A session with Seth Guthrie, industry expert in RAM structural systems. This event will begin with a short lesson covering helpful tips and tricks, followed by an open Q&A where attendees can ask questions directly. YMG LEADERSHIP
Auburn Mattingly, PE Auburn earned her BS in Civil Engineering in 2021 and MS in Civil Engineering (Structures) in 2023 from the University of Kentucky. Active in leadership and outreach during college and with SEAoK YMG, she is passionate about promoting structural engineering and community. In her free time, Auburn enjoys music, board games, reading, and time with friends and family. |
George Stanley, EIT George is a Structural Engineer involved in all project phases—from design to construction administration—across academic, commercial, healthcare, and industrial sectors. He earned his MS in Civil/Structural Engineering from Virginia Tech and is passionate about building a strong young member community. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and weekend soccer. |
Shannon Rush, PE Shannon is a Structural Engineer with 4+ years of experience specializing in industrial and steel projects. She holds a MS in Civil Engineering with a structural focus from the University of Kentucky. She values the professional community and collaborative opportunities SEAoK provides. In her free time, Shannon enjoys reading, recreational sports, and traveling with friends and family. |
