President: Austin Norberg, P.E., S.E.

Austin first became an Officer of SEAoK in 2022, coming on board as Treasurer. He was previously Secretary for the Structural Engineers Association of Kansas and Missouri (SEAKM). Born and raised in Wyoming, he has 12 years of experience in the construction industry, having spent 7 of those years in Kentucky, and 6 of those years practicing structural engineer.

Vice-President: Aaron Daley, P.E.                                                                                                                              Aaron has served as a design engineer in the US Army Corps of Engineers Civil Branch, Structural Section since June 2022. Prior to joining the Louisville District in 2022, Aaron spent 9 years at private structural engineering consulting firms. Outside of the office, Aaron has previously served as board member, Secretary, and President for SEAoK. Aaron is also Treasurer and member of the Executive Board of the Louisville Nature Center and regularly volunteers for K-12 and undergraduate science advocacy events, such as science fairs, Science Olympiad competitions, and classroom visit/outreach opportunities. Aaron earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University, and his Master of Science degree from The University of Kentucky. He is a registered professional engineer in Kentucky and Indiana. Aaron and his wife, Kayla, reside in Louisville, Kentucky.

Treasurer: Jason White, P.E.

Secretary: Holly Callihan, P.E.

Holly became Secretary of SEAoK in 2021.  Her love for Kentucky began in 2003 when she attended the University of Louisville as a student-athlete. She has 15 years of structural engineering experience and currently works remotely from her hometown in Pennsylvania.

Chairman of the Board: Kelly Gardener, P.E.

Kelly joined SEAOK in 1995 and has served in all SEAoK officer positions except treasurer, as well as multiple terms on the Board.  He has been the state delegate to NCSEA since 2012 and serves on multiple committees at the state and national level.  Kelly has over 28 years of consulting engineering experience, with employment at both large and small A/E firms and is a licensed professional engineer in 12 states. In 2016 Kelly started Gardner Engineering and Consulting PLLC based in Owensboro, KY and in 2017 formed Special Inspection Services LLC.  Kelly and his wife have a 19 year old son and a 17 year old daughter.

Board Member: Logan Sams, P.E.

Logan is a 2005 graduate from the University of Kentucky Civil Engineering program with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. Logan founded his own firm in 2011. Sams & DeGough Engineers works primarily with commercial, industrial, and educational building designs.

Board Member: Courtney Gibbs, P.E.

Courtney is a new addition to the board—joining us in 2024. She has her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in Materials Engineering where upon graduation she worked in the manufacturing industry for 4 years before deciding to come back to Kentucky to complete her master’s in civil engineering. Prior to completing her master’s, Courtney started with her current employer, Mason & Hanger as a part-time intern and has since grown within the company and now works as a licensed professional engineer primarily working with clients from the United States Army Corps of Engineers and the FBI on projects across the United States.
