Sustainable Design & Resilience Committee

The Sustainable Design & Resilience Committee advocates for the structural engineer’s role in sustainable design and promotes the integration of sustainability and resilience principles into everyday practice. The committee also develops recommendations and guidance on issues in the emerging field of resilience-based planning and design as they relate to structural engineering.

Structural Engineering Emergency Response (SEER) Committee

The SEER Committee works with engineers, communities, and government agencies to prepare for and respond to disasters impacting structural safety. This committee supports SEAoK’s mission of promoting a resilient built environment through rapid post-disaster building evaluations and recovery advocacy.

Code Advisory Committee 

The Code Advisory Committee supports technical excellence by influencing the development and application of building codes and standards. The committee provides a platform to monitor, research, and advocate for improvements to national consensus standards, as well as state and local codes, on behalf of practicing structural engineers.

Young Member Group (YMG)

The SEAoK Young Member Group (YMG) is dedicated to empowering young structural engineers as they launch and grow their careers. We provide opportunities for professional development, technical enrichment, and industry exposure through educational events, networking, and mentorship.

Nominating Committee

The Academia Practice Partnership Committee works to enhance structural engineering education, particularly for college students and engineers-in-training.
